I've quarantined her. Now what?

She seems too scared to eat, but not sure if she was thrown away for some other reason (disease? I don't see any signs except that she seems slightly thin under the belly). There was a male bronze cory in the same lake, it was half-eaten, probably by a frog or that newt that apparently was also abandoned there.

Update: she ate 2 bloodworms! I'll upload a vid of her eating. She's a very active cory, who could have abandoned such a cute bunny?

This was when I saw her, while I was taking a pic of this flower at the edge of the lake. Not sure if the white thing there was her or not but that's about the moment I saw her.

And this is not my photo, but this is the mini lake (it's more of a pond) where I found Cory. Only that it does not look this good now.

It seems her and Kitty are curious about each other. They keep trying to sniff each other through the walls.

Couldn't keep her in that tank for too long, she was getting very hyperactive. So I moved her in with the others and now her and Kitty are a blurr most of the time. Can barely find them standing still.

Yeah, I thought Cory was female the moment I saw her in the lake, due to her broad belly. She's zipping about with Kitty. She saw Kitty nibble on my finger and she tried to do the same. Looks like the hoplo is showing her how stuff goes around here. I wonder if Cory likes egg yolk, because I'll boil 2 eggs today.

Edit: Yeah, she's just as big a yolk fan as the others.

I'll have to get some catfish pellets for Cory tomorrow. The jerk of the tank (my longfin swordtail) eats everything and won't let Cory get to the bloodworms or flakes.

Fish noms.

They didn't have ones specific for catfish. At least these sink fast enough for Cory to find them, and I can hide them under the sand easier.

Is this belly ok for a cory though? I can barely find any pictures with the underside of a Cory that is not "pregnant".

Heya, yeah, she's often found sleeping next to my hoplo. Not really the best pic, but she moved before I could capture the moment.
Posted Image

The rest of the time she's sniffing the fry net or shifting the sands. She likes the discus food a lot.

I might film her tonight after my camera's batteries get recharged.

On a side note, this food seems to have added some nutrients to my tank, which made the algae die out and the plants to look better (at least the fern and the moss). It has also brought back the green algae I liked.

I'm so glad Kitty now has someone to play with, she was kind of bored when she was the only catfish and kept sniffing the other fish, but now she leaves them alone and just plays with Cory.
Now I've added this little guy with the adults, he seems to be doing pretty well:

He was beginning to annoy his smaller sibling, so I had to move him out of the fry net. I hope that he'll get along with his sibling once they grow bigger. My orange fry grew up to be pretty accepting of each other and the rest of the fish. They're both dominant late-blooming males, but they used to fight a lot when they were young, even when they got released from the net. Now they just stick together.

I kind of miss my old red sword plant or whatever it was, it grew huge, lasted about 2 years, then the black hairy algae struck and killed it within a few months. The way things are at the moment, it seems like my tank is recovering and the green algae returned instead. I prefer green algae over that black one.

Why dont you take the plants to a local Aquarium shop, even if they wont give you a credit for them , at least you would not have to throw them out.
Sorry i dont live in the states Vince, but i like it here.
